Now that we have reached the midway point of 2022 it’s time to take a look at some of the top luxury supercars, sedans and SUV’s that were most popular with customers seeking to buy luxury used cars in Dubai.
- Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG
The undisputed champ, in the last few years no luxury car has come close to the sales that the G-wagon has enjoyed in the UAE market. The G63 is a global icon with perhaps its largest fanbase residing in the UAE, of all the new and used cars in Dubai few models have enjoyed the popularity and demand the G63 has. With such a wide variety of options and trim levels ( First Edition, the Night package and the 40th Anniversary Edition to name a few) coupled with upgrades and custom builds from Mansory, Brabus and Keyvany the seemingly never-ending different loong G-Wagons on the UAE’s roads only further added to their allure.
Thanks to many factors the G63 AMG tops our list as the most popular luxury car in Dubai and with a supposed halt in production their popularity may even continue to rise as Mercedes have stated that they will not be making another model after the 2023 versions are released.
2. Rolls-Royce Wraith
The Wraith has always been a global status symbol and this year was no different. The sportiest member of the Rolls-Royce family enjoyed high interest from many customers in used car showrooms. Thanks to a wide range of colour and customisation options many used car buyers in Dubai became proud owners of their very own stunning Wraith in 2022.
The Wraith symbolises luxury like few other cars, with it’s aggressive sloping back and classic Rolls-Royce face demand for the Wraith shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
3. Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge
The pinnacle of SUV luxury. There will always be a place on any list of most popular luxury cars for the Cullinan and this year is no different. With it’s upgraded features such as champagne cooler, whiskey decanter, rear-seat entertainment paired with a horsepower upgrade (592hp) the Black Badge model in particular quickly became one the most sought after used cars for sale in Dubai and many car dealers in Dubai were eager to get one as the Black Badge attracted so many customers to their used cars showroom.
With the standard Cullinan already being a presence on the road the upgraded Black Badge became ultimate symbol of SUV luxury. Darker exterior finishes and unique gear style alloys separated the Black Badge from the base Cullinan and quickly became the desired look for car buyers in Dubai seeking a Cullinan.
4. Ferrari 488 (Pista)
The 488 has always been popular and it’s sportier twin the Pista even more so. Across 2021-22 the craze for the Pista reached new heights as these cars became increasingly harder and harder to find. Building on the already wildly successful 488 the Pista’s defining features such as the upgraded aerodynamic body alongside horsepower and top speed improvements (710hp, 339.5km/h) make it the ultimate drivers car and the speed at which they sell upon entering a used car showroom is proof of that.
With limited numbers available in used luxury car showrooms and many models boasting large price tags due to many extra options used car buyers in Dubai fought hard to find and buy these cars which only increased their popularity.
5. Land Rover Defender 110 P400
2021 was undoubtedly the year of the SUV and this list would be incomplete without mentioning the Defender. With off-roading being so popular in the UAE and most luxury cars not handling the sand very well it only makes sense that a car with off-road capabilities as well respected as the Defender would be featured on this list.
Sales for the four-door 6 cylinder model, in particular, outperformed all other Defender variations as the four-door 6-cylinder is spacious enough for a family car, powerful enough for an off-road car and just about has the look and presence of a luxury car. With a seemingly neverending array of options available ranging from infotainment systems to jumpseats and air filters the customisation levels for the Defender allowed buyers to find something which suited their needs to a tee.
As a result, the Defender became the perfect accompanying car to any of the others on our list for both it’s versatility and premium appearance.
As we progress through 2022 and into 2023 it will be interesting to see which of these cars retain their spot on the list. You’ll note that there aren’t any electric or hybrid cars on the current list. Will next year’s list feature more hybrid models? Only time will tell if the future will truly be electric.
